BOÖTES re-strung pearl necklace
The process of stringing and knotting a pearl necklace feels time-honored and is satisfying in its simplicity. Taking vintage pearl necklaces apart and mixing the rounds with baroque, the delicate with the large, gives each of them a bit more room to radiate their unique lustre.
This necklace mixes in pearls of sleeping beauty turquoise and nuggets of kingman turquoise. Both known for their remarkable hues. I added one antique Chinese amber pearl and one spinel from Jaipur in a very light blue.
The necklace is about 17”, as I imagined it with a twinset. A little preppy. Not so proper. Still polite. Very pretty.
